Greivis Vasquez will not be able to take his physical until tomorrow morning, meaning that we probably won't see Rudy Gay, Aaron Gray or Quincy Acy play tonight.
The Rudy Gay era is likely being delayed.
Per league rules, all 7 players in the trade have to pass physicals to be cleared to play for the team. Greivis Vasquez has had issues with his visa and has been stuck in New York all day. The hope was that he would be cleared to go to Toronto by today so that everyone would be available to play.
Alas, that is not the case. Per Toronto's media relation department, Vasquez will arrive in Toronto tonight and take his physical tomorrow morning, likely meaning that we won't be seeing any of the new guys play tonight. That's unfortunate for fans excited to see the new guys in action.
If this is the case, the Kings will again be forced to dress just 10 players. All 10 saw action in Monday's blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks. Meanwhile the Utah Jazz are expecting to bring Derrick Favors and Marvin Williams back to action. Neither played in last week's game in Utah.
If Gay, Gray, and Acy do not play tonight, they will likely make their debut Friday in Phoenix when the Kings take on the Suns. Their next game at home is Sunday against the Rockets.
UPDATE:
Greivis Vasquez has landed in Toronto. Maybe there's still a chance. We'll keep you posted.
