There it is.
The Sacramento Bee has confirmed that George Karl will indeed be the next coach of the Sacramento Kings, with an official announcement likely coming after Sunday's All-Star game. From Ailene Voisin and the Bee:
Karl's hiring will not be formally announced [until] after the All-Star Game, according to sources, because team officials don't want the hire to distract from center DeMarcus Cousins' first appearance in the annual game on Sunday.
Jason Jones, also of the Bee, tweeted out the following even before Ailene Voisin's report was published:
George Karl as new Kings coach is official. Tyrone Corbin will coach tonight at Milwaukee as planned.

No official announcement yet but it's done. Karl will be in North Carolina the next two days for Dean Smith's funeral services.

All that per league sources ... Karl is assembling his staff

Karl instantly becomes one of the most high-profile coaches the Kings have ever had, with more career wins (1,131) than the entire Kings franchise in the Sacramento-era (1,014). He'll have 30 games this season to try to establish some rapport with the players and begin laying the foundation to bring the Kings back to the playoffs after 8 seasons and counting.
Welcome to Sacramento, Coach Karl.
