The Kings big man said he hasn't been consulted on the possible hiring of George Karl.

The Sacramento Kings' pursuit of George Karl continues to drag on and DeMarcus Cousins has been in the middle of the drawn-out process. Early reports indicated the talks between the Kings and Karl stalled due to resistance from Cousins' camp.

Cousins' agent later denied that claim and now Cousins has also spoken out on the situation (via Adrian Wojnarowski):

I wasn't consulted when the decision was made to fire Mike Malone and I'm not being consulted now. I just hope they make a decision soon and stick with it. George Karl is an experienced, proven coach and if that is who they chose to coach this team, I will support it. I do not like all these discussions in the media while we have a coach in place. It is a distraction and not fair to Coach Corbin and this team.

Cousins' statement comes after he drew some criticism as a result of the reported resistance from his agents, despite the fact Cousins had remained silent on the issue until releasing the statement. Cousins has now made it clear he's not leading resistance and instead sounds like a player who would just like to move on and focus on the happenings on the court. Cousins' name has been at the forefront of the anti-Karl reports, but minority owners and even other players have reportedly resisted the hire.

Despite reported resistance from several groups, reports indicate Karl and the Kings continue to progress toward a deal.
